Savandurga -The Flabbergast

"Am Done! No more possible. U guys carry-on, this hill is a monster & took all my breath".

Wait! Let’s begin the story from the scratch...

It was the month of august & tourism was slowly healing up after a long shutdown. Ever since this pandemic situation (COVID-19) occurred, Late night strolling has taken an integral part in my life.  I teamed up with my cousins & young brother on this expedition. During our group talks  “Savandurga Trek” came out from nowhere & it was chosen in quick succession. Eventually, the plan goes live & the adventure begins. Basically, We had no idea about how this place was going to be. With a headful of curiosity we started @ 5AM in the dawn from Bengaluru & the distance to the destination was 50 Kms approx. It took us 90 minutes to reach the place after all the pit stops. We reached a base point & there is a Veerabhadraswamy temple situated at the base point. But the temple was not open for visitors due to government restrictions. We couldn’t enter the temple so we went ahead with trekking the hill directly. Savandurga is 4,022 ft. Largest monolith hills in Asia. The trek was challenging with a trail of 5-6 kms. The hill from the base point looked gigantic & it felt more like climbing than hiking. As we started, We began to trust our instincts.

A Sky View From The Base

I was leading my group & during half way up my cousin calls out "Am Done! No more possible. U guys carry-on, this hill is a monster & took all my breath". This breaks down the pursuit & i continue to put my efforts in motivating the team but this did not last long. At one point every member in my team gives up. They all looked exhausted & called to conclude. This started haunting me & at any cost I was not ready to wind up.

A Difficult Monster

“Everyone wants to live on top of the mountain, but all the happiness and growth occurs while you are climbing it.”
-Andy Rooney

I took up the challenge of climbing solo all by myself. I told my team about this & asked to wait for me to come back from the summit.

TEAM > AGREED……!

I began immediately & reached the peak after an hour. The vision from the top of the hill was so majestic. It left me spellbound.

I spent a quality time in solitariness. I felt content with pleasures of nature around me. All my fatigueless was vaporized in the air & nature boosted me to rejuvenate.

What made me go alone? Am still trying to find an answer for myself.

However, this trek after all the disasters around, healed me & yielded in positive energy.
Way back home , I was loaded with bag full of memories & new lessons by experiences.
